What is Jetpack?
Jetpack is a WordPress plugin that supercharges your self-hosted WordPress site with the awesome cloud power of WordPress.com.
Why Jetpack?
I was a little bit curious about Jetpack because every time I installed WordPress on some of my client’s sites I always saw that Jetpack is installed also. I think Jetpack is now a part of the package when installing WordPress using Fantastico or Simple Scripts that can be found inside your hosting’s cPanel.
Experience
So far everything is going smooth and I already activated some of the cool features in the plugin. The thing that I love about Jetpack is the ease of adding some of the most common features that you can find on some of the coolest and most visited sites.
- Social media sharing (Facebook likes, retweets, g+, etc…)
- Site statistics (Where you can check how your site is doing and also I also advice to get a Google Analytics account)
- Subscription form (Where visitors can subscribe to your site that when every time you have published a new post they will received an email)
Now these are just the few things that Jetpack can offer you, sometimes you will need to have a different plugin for each feature you want or you may need to hire a web developer to acquire a feature that Jetpack can offer you with just a click of the button.
It’s kinda ironic that I’m giving this advice to you when I get paid building websites but helping you get your sites up and running with less expense is also part of my job.
I would like to hear your comments, advice, or even your experiences with Jetpack.
